December News Brief
2008 Big Big Draw
Our 2008 Big Big Draw tickets are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased at our office on Townsend Street and other location within the community. Watch for ads in the Cape Breton Post and at local businesses. With the success of our 2007 draw, we hope this years draw will be even better.
The winner of our 2007 November draw was Darren MacNeil. Darren won a $500.00 Gift Certificate from the MayFlower Mall.
The board members and staff would like to congratulate all of our winners.
Bingo
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cape Breton County will be hosting Monday Night Bingo at Membertou Entertainment Centre each Monday night. We are only a few weeks in to the event and we would like to thank everyone who is involved. Membertou Entertainment Centre also has offered us the opportunity to host select bingo events throughout the coming year, so come on up every Monday night for Bingo, doors open at 6pm.
Piper Penguin
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cape Breton County unveiled our newest member of the family; Piper Penguin is our agency's mascot. Piper will be having a very busy month of December; Santa Claus parades, Parties, MayFlower Mall activities, plus several other events within the community. So keep on the look out for a Big Penguin and make sure to stop and say Hi.
Website Update & Upgrade
Our Website update & upgrade is almost complete, so stick with us for a few more weeks when everything will be back to normal. We would like to thank the Webtech Sinister Art Design team, for their continued support of our organization for the past two years. A new feature that was added to our site was our Placemat Campaign. Placemats have been given to local restaurants and a copy of this years placemat is online, so have a look on the site and watch for them in the community.
